I met you in that gym once again after my senior year. You spoke about “not waiting until you are walking across the gym at graduation until you decide to reach out to your peers and engage with them,” and I remembered that phrase throughout high school and I still do today. You tore up a dollar bill, to the shock of the audience, and you gave me a corner of it. I still carry it in my wallet to remind myself to own my own time.
